2022 immediately seemed to us to be a very difficult year.Niko broke his leg in several parts at the end of February. The doctors said the recovery would be finally between 1 to 2 years. We had to rethink the objectives of the association and find different ways to be effective (since we could not go to Greece). And 2022 then?🐽 A mother and her 3 puppies rescued by Nafpaktos volunteers, see their lives changed since they found human families in Belgium. 🐽We organized 3 antispeciesist events. We mixed concerts, tattoos (thanks to MUZAH Tattoo ), games, vegan food, and markets but most importantly we spread the message of animal liberation and a part of the money was sent to comrades in need.🐽We participated in 3 festivals in Greece and 2 in Belgium, where we met very interesting people and associations (go check to VG'Terrien , Bite Back )🐽 We created our animal liberation merch to spread the message of veganism and to financially support the future shelter.🐽 We have filled 2 storage places with useful materials for the shelter (crates, building materials, and animal equipment).🐽 Our website is finally available in Greek thanks to the help of Greek volunteers.🐽 But the most important thing is that we finally manage to buy the land that will be able to accommodate the first rescued animals in 2023. 🐽 We achieved the goal of raising enough money to build the 1.5 kilometer fence, thanks to visitors to our events and everyone who donated. ( especially Anne!) Putting up this fence will be the first work to be done on the field.Thank you to everyone who follows and supports DoggyBagCrew! 💚2023 will be the start of this incredible adventure! If you would like to be part of it, do not hesitate to contact us!We definitely need help in many areas! For a world without any exploitation!!!🖤 ... See MoreSee Less

💥 Amazing news for the futur shelter💥4 years ago this month, we crossed paths with a stray dog heavily pregnant.Unfortunately, we had to leave Greece 2 days later. After a Facebook post explaining the situation, someone asked us to find a solution for the mom..... which she will adopt later. We had received permission to build an enclosure in a garden so that she wouldn't give birth in the street. The puppies would have had no chance of survival.Exactly when leaving the place, she gave birth to her first puppy. Finally, she gave birth to 11!!!10 days later, we were there again to take care of this large family. All the puppies as well as Omorfi, the mother, have found a home in Belgium.4 years later, the construction of the shelter is imminent even if we lack funds. 4 years later, Omorfi's human gives us the most generous donation ever!!!Anne is funding our future 1.5 km fence!!A very big thank you for making the rescue of Omorfi possible and for supporting us for 4 years. Your gesture of support helps us materially but also mentally! ... See MoreSee Less

The previous two weekends have been a blast! We participated at Vegan Life Festival and Tourlou Fest in Athens and the support we got left us speechless! As you already know, we recently bought the land and we couldn’t find a better way to celebrate this news with you all.We are really thankful that you came by and supported us by buying our merch, donating & for willing to volunteer at the shelter’s construction! We met artists, designers, lawyers, contractors and people that would like to join us and create a safe place for the animals (human & non human). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and you haven’t contacted us yet, you’re always welcome to send us your email to be added to our email list!Despite this good news and the good time we had by joining these events, there’s something that is still holding us back a bit, postponing the beginning of the shelter. Niko’s leg is still broken, the algoneurodystrophy is still making the situation painful and his next doctor’s appointment in Belgium is in January. That means that we can’t start any practical process at the land by the end of January 2023, since travelling is not possible for him at the moment. But it doesn’t mean that this is enough to keep us back from our plan! We are still active by organising solidarity events, planning the future steps about the land (permaculture, eco-building, volunteering…) & spreading the message for total liberation and veganism!    A member of doggybagcrew will be in Athens for a few days in December and we think it’s a great opportunity to organise an event for the animals! We would love to meet other groups or people that are running a project and would be interested to co-organize something! A screening, a market, an event with vegan food and music are some of the ideas that we have but we are always open for new ones! So don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested! ...
