Today we visited OrthoVets animal Clinic in Agrinio regarding Johnny’s issues with his back legs and a mass on his rib area.![]()

We had already done X-rays and an ultrasound, but the results weren’t clear, so he needed to be examined by a specialist veterinarian.![]()

His right hind leg has a partial cruciate ligament rupture, and the mass on his ribs appears to be a sarcoma that urgently needs to be removed. The top priority is the removal of this mass, as it seems to be cancerous.![]()

Thankfully, it does not appear to be attached to the ribs, which is a positive sign and makes the surgery less risky. Afterward, we will proceed with surgery for his leg.![]()
The cost for removing the mass is €600–€700, including the pre-operative tests and we will definitely need to do a biopsy afterward. In total, the expenses will reach around €1,000.![]()

Johnny has been with us since August, when we rescued him from the wildfires in Patras. He is the sweetest boy and we want to give him all the care he needs so he can heal and continue being his happy self. Once his surgeries are done and he has recovered, we will do our best to find him a loving forever home. 💚🖤

Update on Jester 🐾![]()

Jester was rescued by our friends in Pyrgos, Ilia (Greece) @groveofthevoiceless and transferred to our shelter, where he has been living for a few months. He was found in terrible condition and is FIV positive. Every two months, he needs cortisone injections for stomatitis.![]()

At the vet, today in Athens,it was found that he had no teeth left except his canines and one of those was broken. We also asked if neutering could be done, as previous vets thought he wasn’t strong enough. Thankfully, the neutering went well. The vet also discovered a rifle bullet lodged in his head likely from someone shooting at cats , which was successfully removed. He only needed a few small stitches.![]()

His current vet expenses were €150, covered by our previous bazaar. ![]()

Despite everything, Jester is recovering well and remains the sweetest little fighter ❤️

First on our list is Jester’s dental surgery this Monday in Athens. Jester has FIV and stomatitis, and several of his teeth need to be removed to ease his pain and help him eat comfortably again.![]()

This event was especially important for us, as our October bazaar was cancelled at the last minute, leaving us with a few financial gaps to cover from the previous month. Your support helped us recover and continue our work without delays !![]()

We’re also using part of the funds to continue building and improving our shelter. Thanks to your donations through Teaming and Vintage Piece for Peace, we’ve already ordered two new 4 meter metal structures for the rabbits! 🐇![]()

Unfortunately, not all of them get along, and the original 6-meter space—divided into five sections—isn’t enough for seven rabbits.![]()

For their new area, we’ll need to:![]()

🐇Dig and pour a concrete base![]()
![]()
🐇Add extra fencing around and below the structure to protect from predators and prevent escapes![]()

🐇Install a more secure door![]()
![]()
🐇Add waterproofing for the roof![]()
![]()
🐇Plant greenery around the area to provide shade and protection during the summer heatwaves ![]()

And of course, we plan to create fun playground areas with different levels where the rabbits can jump, explore, and enjoy enrichment activities! ![]()

Urgent need for foster care for two female cats with congenital motor instability. ![]()

Last week, their elderly caretaker, who lived in a rented apartment in Galatsi, passed away suddenly. The owner has already put the apartment up for rent and the cats are at immediate risk of ending up on the street. Despite their instability (which can be seen in the video), they are fully able to take care of themselves and have no other health issues. They are friendly to dogs and other cats.
