💥 Amazing news for the futur shelter💥4 years ago this month, we crossed paths with a stray dog heavily pregnant.Unfortunately, we had to leave Greece 2 days later. After a Facebook post explaining the situation, someone asked us to find a solution for the mom..... which she will adopt later. We had received permission to build an enclosure in a garden so that she wouldn't give birth in the street. The puppies would have had no chance of survival.Exactly when leaving the place, she gave birth to her first puppy. Finally, she gave birth to 11!!!10 days later, we were there again to take care of this large family. All the puppies as well as Omorfi, the mother, have found a home in Belgium.4 years later, the construction of the shelter is imminent even if we lack funds. 4 years later, Omorfi's human gives us the most generous donation ever!!!Anne is funding our future 1.5 km fence!!A very big thank you for making the rescue of Omorfi possible and for supporting us for 4 years. Your gesture of support helps us materially but also mentally! ... See MoreSee Less

The previous two weekends have been a blast! We participated at Vegan Life Festival and Tourlou Fest in Athens and the support we got left us speechless! As you already know, we recently bought the land and we couldn’t find a better way to celebrate this news with you all.We are really thankful that you came by and supported us by buying our merch, donating & for willing to volunteer at the shelter’s construction! We met artists, designers, lawyers, contractors and people that would like to join us and create a safe place for the animals (human & non human). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and you haven’t contacted us yet, you’re always welcome to send us your email to be added to our email list!Despite this good news and the good time we had by joining these events, there’s something that is still holding us back a bit, postponing the beginning of the shelter. Niko’s leg is still broken, the algoneurodystrophy is still making the situation painful and his next doctor’s appointment in Belgium is in January. That means that we can’t start any practical process at the land by the end of January 2023, since travelling is not possible for him at the moment. But it doesn’t mean that this is enough to keep us back from our plan! We are still active by organising solidarity events, planning the future steps about the land (permaculture, eco-building, volunteering…) & spreading the message for total liberation and veganism!    A member of doggybagcrew will be in Athens for a few days in December and we think it’s a great opportunity to organise an event for the animals! We would love to meet other groups or people that are running a project and would be interested to co-organize something! A screening, a market, an event with vegan food and music are some of the ideas that we have but we are always open for new ones! So don’t hesitate to contact us if you are interested! ... The association

DoggyBagCrew association was created in 2016 as a result of a trip in Greece which lasted many months. The amount of abandoned, injured and dead animals that can be found on the side of the road of cities or towns is what motivated us the most. DoggyBagCrew was born with the main goal of helping as many animals as possible.

Today, the association travels to Greece twice a year by van to deliver a tonne of food and donations, simultaneously assisting financially and physically other support groups that they collaborate with on site. The association does not receive any governmental funding and relies solely on donations from volunteers which puts them on a difficult financial situation. DoggyBagCrew regularly covers their veterinary costs.

In order to continue fighting towards their goal of protect animals of all species along with the defence of animal rights in Greece, DoggyBagCrew is dedicated to carry out different types of actions:

  • On site assistance to animals that have been abused, abandoned or in a situation of distress.
  • Assist animals suffering from physical, emotional or psychological abuse.
  • Help finding homes for rescued animals and monitor their progress.
  • Promote communication, actions and awareness about animal rights defence, veganism and anti-speciesism.
