We are excited to announce the 2nd edition of the diy Animal Liberation Exhibition 2025 & to invite antispeciesist creators of all kinds or collectives to take part in a 2-day event in Athens, Greece, happening at the end of October (exact dates & venue to be announced).![]()

Our 1st edition in November 2024, was a 3-day antispeciesist event that took place at the Migrants Social Center in Exarchia that brought together creators from around the world to take a stand for animal liberation & solidarity. ![]()

This year’s event will once again bring together voices of creative resistance from across the globe, uniting through art to confront oppression, ignite dialogue and imagine a world where all beings live free from violence and exploitation. ![]()

From factory farms & slaughterhouses to borders, prisons & warzones, our struggle is against all institutions that commodify life, destroy freedom & silence dissent. We want to share some bad news about the shelter. What you’re about to read includes a bit of venting so if you're not in the mood for that, feel free to skip it 😅![]()

Unfortunately, it seems that the land cannot be granted a building permit, which means we also cannot get a water supply connection. When we bought the land three years ago, the contract stated it was “buildable,” but according to a new law that has come into effect, off-plan land (outside city planning zones) must be adjacent to a municipal road for at least 25 meters to be considered buildable. Our land is adjacent to a rural road, which we’ve been trying to upgrade by contacting the appropriate authorities, aiming to extend it and convert it into a municipal road.![]()

Unfortunately, the architect who took on the project could have applied for an exemption from the new law three years ago, but didn’t. Last June he told us we’d have water by August 2024 and now we’re reaching August 2025, going through our second summer with 40°C heat and no water.![]()
Today after going ourselves to the urban planning office, we found out that the road can only be reclassified if we can prove that it existed before 1960!!![]()

lack of water has put many of our plans on hold , including building the area for the pigs. Just constructing the fencing, which spans a 140-meter perimeter, will require tons of water. We need to pour water over the cement three times a day during the building process to ensure it sets properly. Not having a water permit also prevents us from taking in more animals. Just imagine if something happened to the van, which is currently our only way of transporting large quantities of water.![]()

Bringing in more animals means doing it responsibly, knowing we can meet their needs. Without water, the conditions are hard for us, the animals, the trees and the plants we’re trying to regrow after the fire.![]()
Even though we've asked for help several times to move things along faster, only a few people have actually come and they’ve witnessed firsthand how difficult things are. We constantly receive messages asking us to take in animals and it breaks our hearts to say no. Even though we try to communicate the challenges we’re facing, it doesn't seem to be enough to stop the pressure.![]()

We want this shelter to be built on a foundation of solidarity, a place where everyone contributes in whatever way they can. It’s not just a space where animals are kept, it’s a place dedicated to their well-being, safety and dignity.![]()

Our goal is for it to continue existing, thriving and helping animals even if we're no longer here.Those who choose to join and help do so for the animals, not for us. ![]()

The news for Garry's test are good, his results came back much better! If all goes well, we’ll be able to sterilize him next week. His sterilization should have been done a while ago because he’s been dealing with swollen testicles and recently, a fungal infection, but we couldn’t proceed due to kidney issues.![]()

Jester will need to repeat his injections in 20 days, so his treatment continues as well.![]()

We are looking for one or two long term live-in residents to join our shelter from September to November, with the possibility of staying longer if things go well. This could be a single person, a couple, or two friends who are comfortable sharing a caravan.![]()
