Είτε έχετε εμπειρία με την περίφραξη και τις κατασκευές είτε απλά την προθυμία να βοηθήσετε, η υποστήριξή σας είναι πολύτιμη.Ημερομηνίες : 19-20-21, 26-27-28 Ιουλίου και 2-3-4 Αυγούστου. GR/ENGΕίμαι η Mahsima, προσφύγισσα που διαμένω στην Ελλάδα και έχω διασώσει έναν σκύλο και δυο γάτες από το καμπ της Κορίνθου όπου είχα βρεθεί.Στα μέσα Ιουνίου, η Bambe, ένα από τα γατάκια μου, ηλικίας 11μηνών, έπεσε από τον 3ο όροφο του μπαλκονιού και την είχα χάσει για λίγες μέρες. Την βρήκα από ένα αφισάκι που είχα φτιάξει αλλά ήταν τραυματισμένη και με σπασμένο πόδι. Την πήγα σε κτηνίατρο που της έκανε ακτινογραφίες και βρέθηκε κάταγμα. Μου είπε ότι πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να γίνει χειρουργείο αλλά δεν διαθέτω τα χρήματα. Ξοδεύω αρκετά χρήματα κάθε μήνα από ένα μικρό εισόδημα για να συντηρήσω τα ζώα μου. Το ορθοπεδικό χειρουργείο είναι επείγον να γίνει, όπως και το να μπει πλέγμα στο μπαλκόνι για να είναι τα ζώα μου πια ασφαλή. Χωρίς κάποια βοήθεια από σας, τίποτα από αυτά δεν μπορεί να γίνει.Το χειρουργείο κοστίζει 620 ευρώ και περιμένω μια προσφορά από έναν μάστορα για να μπει πλέγμα. I found my cat via a little poster I made, injured, with a broken leg. I took it to the vet and the x rays showed a fracture in the leg. A surgery has to take place which I cannot afford. I spent a lot of money each month on a limited income to sustain my animals. The orthopedic surgery is urgently necessary for Bambe and a cat safety grid needs to be installed on the balcony , both of which I cannot afford without your contribution.The surgery costs 620 euro and I am currently awaiting a visit from a technician that will estimate the costs of the safety net installation and will update the campaign accordingly. If you are looking for a post that will make your day, this is not the one. 😝 After spending a few weeks on the mountain, we can officially state that we did not expect to face so many difficulties in such a short time. Every day here is a new challenge. The fact that the land has few trees is certainly not helping the situation. The area where we have placed the caravan and where we are mostly working has almost no trees, but it is the flattest and easiest part of the shelter.Naturally, we must give ourselves time to get used to living without power, carrying water in tanks and bottles, and utilizing a little solar refrigerator that can hold only a few things. However, even small daily tasks seem more difficult to accomplish. At the moment, most days are either extremely hot, limiting the hours we can work, or extremely windy. When it is too hot, we would normally rest, but the caravan is off-limits because it is not insulated. When it is windy, it's really windy. We have already lost some shade umbrellas, experienced several tent fabric tears, and had to take down the camping tents. We need to find another place in the shelter for the camping area and create durable shade structures that can withstand windy conditions. The only good thing when it's windy, is that the temperature in the caravan is good. However, it seems more like we're in a boat on a savage sea than a caravan 😂We also came to the conclusion that the caravan requires improved wind, lightning, and rain protection throughout the winter. Our current setup will certainly not last, and if we are not well-prepared, everything will get harder.Other than two friends who drop by to help us when they have free time, we don't currently have any support. Due to the recent purchase of the container, water tanks, building supplies, and fencing, as well as the need to pay for stray cat veterinarian care, our budget is too tight to hire help. Our expenses in June were more than 5,000 euros. Sometimes, all of this seems overwhelming and impossible for two people to achieve. Nevertheless, we are still here and will continue trying.Right now, the most important things are to increase the place's viability, lessen daily challenges, and begin creating the permaculture plan. We have been looking for a group to create the permaculture plan for a year, but they seem to be too busy, too far away, or simply ignore us. If you know anyone with the knowledge and motivation to work with us, please let us know. We rescued several plants from the dumping site, even though the water is limited, but we had no second thoughts. The land needs to be green and these plants were the best thing that happened recently, giving us hope.The first two dogs will arrive at the shelter the following week. Paraskevas, will be up for adoption. Chaido, who prefers to live outside and needs a large place, will stay here permanently!If you are motivated enough to want to come to a place like this and join us, you are welcome. We constantly need aid. On July 12 and 13, we will be taking part in the DIY bazaar on Strefi Hill. The heatwave is challenging, but the work continues at the shelter. Friends from Belgium arrived to help us, and together with other local friends, we began working on the cat area, which will be situated within the caravan yard. We fenced off the central section of the land that connects the upper and lower parts, and we built the compost for the toilet. We succeeded in solving the puzzle of the caravan tent without a manual, which had been the most challenging task thus far.The place is huge, and our time to work is limited due to the summer heat. We begin very early in the morning until our energy is exhausted, and then resume in the evening until the sun goes down. It’s also too difficult for the dogs, so we try to make their place cozy, with enough shade and by cooling them with water. Every drop of water is precious since we have no local source and must bring it daily in jerry cans.We moved all the shelter's supplies into the container, and for the moment, we also use it as a kitchen until we build one. Additionally, we set up three large tents to accommodate visitors and friends who plan to come.The next steps include, among other tasks, fencing different areas for the animals, constructing small houses, and creating shaded zones.It's so exciting seeing this place take shape, and every day something new happens that brings change! It has started! After a lot of trouble, the caravan and the container have finally been placed at the shelter. We had a few changes in the placement because we couldn't find honest people to flatten the area where we wanted to put them. We were asked for 1000 euros to flatten a space of 13x7 cm, plus 380 euros for rocks and delivery. We realized that they were trying to cheat us, so we decided not to put the caravan and the container together, and we fixed the space ourselves. (Okay, the result is not very straight, but we did our best.) The good thing is that we spent less money and now we will finally be able to leave on the land.The container will be used for the animals' food and other animal supplies. The area around the caravan will be fenced, and a wooden house for cats will be built in the same place.In August (we hope) we will have the answer about the building permission to see if we can bring water. Until then we will deal with the heatwave by bringing water in watertanks.Now, we are focusing on creating shady places, removing the dead plants from the ground, some of which are dangerous and could hurt animals, building the kitchen, building the cat place, and starting to dig for the fenced areas.
